Annual General Meeting, a legacy event

January 2018 – The Friends’ Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 17th was a memorable event, paying tribute to the Royal Victoria Hospital Auxiliary which officially closed at the beginning of 2017.  Members were able to view a lovely, informative display of RVHA history prepared by Donna Carroll and witness the official handing over of the RVHA gavel of 1953 to The Friends of the MUHC.  In recognition of the legacy of the RVHA, The Friends of the MUHC presented a commemorative cake to the Auxiliary members and thanked them for their commitment to the RVH and the people of Montreal.  Serving the hospital community for over 173 years, the RVHA has made significant contributions to the city’s health care system and will forever be recognized and honoured by The Friends of the MUHC.  Thank you.

We would also like to thank Julie Quenneville, President of the MUHC/RVH Foundation and Jean-Guy Gourdeau, President of the Montreal General Hospital Foundation for joining us and speaking to the membership about the latest developments within the Foundations.  We look forward to working collaboratively with both of these organizations.

Mark your calendars now…this year’s AGM will be on Wednesday, May 16th.
